Road to Oscar 2020: Short list Animated Features and Short Films

Read...
Announced the short-list candidates for Oscar 2020, chosen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). Below the list of the animation industry.
While the year hinted at a bloodbath among the major studios, Disney in the lead with the numerous (animated) titles produced in 2019, one of the major and first prizes was won by a minor one, a victory dedicated to creativity and the purest crafts: we are talking about Missing Link of the young studios Laika, winners of the Golden Globe for Best Animated Film.

The Oscars instead, which will be delivered on February 9th, confirm this trend by practically excluding films such as The Lion King and Frozen 2, blockbusters in last season, with only a nomination as Best Special Effects (the first film) and Best Original Song (the second one).

Here the nominees as Best Animated Feature Film:

- How to Train Your Dragon - The Hidden World (DreamWorks Animation)
- I Lost My Body (Netflix / Xilam)
- Klaus (Netflix / Sergio Pablo Animations)
- Missing Link (Laika)
- Toy Story 4 (Pixar / Disney)

The Pixar's film is nomined also in the Best Original Song section.

The Animated Short Film short list includes:

- Dcera (Daughter) by Daria Kashcheeva (FAMU / MAUR film)
- Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry and Karen Rupert Toliver (Sony Pictures Animation)
- Kitbull by Rosana Sullivan and Kathryn Hendrickson (Pixar Animation Studios)
- Memorable by Bruno Collet and Jean-François Le Corre (Vivement Lundi)
- Sister by Siqi Song

In the next news we will talk about the short animated film with a focus on.
