The new Doraemon anime film will hit theaters in Japan next month to mark an important anniversary. Find info and trailer below.
It is officially the 46th film (44 in 2D + 2 in 3D) of the long-running Doraemon franchise, arriving in time for the 45th anniversary of the saga (probably the longest in the industry). The first film was released in 1980, followed by a long television series that counts 3000 episodes.

Born from the mind of the late mangaka Fujiko F. Fujio and published for the first time in 1969, the character is very popular in his homeland and not so much in the rest of the world.

The story of the film Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Esekai Monogatari (The Tale of Nobita's Picture World) follows Doraemon, Nobita, and friends as they enter a painting into a medieval European world. In the painting, they meet Claire and Milo, children from the country of Artoria. They also encounter a small demon with wings named Chai. Together, they face a powerful enemy for a legendary jewel.

Directed by Yukiyo Teramoto (veteran of Doraemon series and films), the film is written by Satoshi Ito (author of the Doraemon series) and will be released in Japanese theaters on March 7.
