The new anime film Ghost Cat Anzu, a production between French and Japanese studios, was made with the rotoscoping technique. Below are some examples.
Ghost Cat Anzu (Anzu, chat-fantôme), is co-produced by the Japanese Shin-Ei Animation (Doraemon, Crayon Shin -chan) and the Parisian Miyu Productions, directed by Yoko Kuno and Nobuhiro Yamashita, with the characters designed by Yoko Kuno, the animations directed by Namiko Ishidate and Yukie Nakauchi and the music composed by Keiichi Suzuki.

Presented as a preview and in competition at the Annecy festival [news] , will arrive in Japanese theaters in a few days, from July 19.

The feature film was made with two-dimensional animations designed by faithfully replicating the actions (filming) of live actors on backgrounds designed with the classic care of Japanese artists, as in the example of the videos we show you below:
