Dickens in animations x Netflix - Scrooge: A Christmas Carol

Read...
The English classic starring the elderly miser and his travels between past and future is back in animations thanks to Netflix. Below the first images.
The adaptations of the story born from the mind of Charles Dickens are no longer counted. At Christmas 2022 another one will arrive, conceived entirely in the United Kingdom and produced by the well-known streaming platform.

The title is Scrooge: A Christmas Carol and is directed by Stephen Donnelly and produced by the British Timeless Film (Extinct, Monster Family 2, Dragon Rider) with CG animations commissioned from Axis Studios (Love, Death & Robots) with offices in Glasgow, London and Bristol.

The voice cast of the title includes: Luke Evans (Scrooge), Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley, Johnny Flynn, Fra Fee, Giles Terera, Trevor Dion Nicholas, James Cosmo and Jonathan Pryce.

"It's been a fascinating challenge to adapt such a beloved and often-told story," said Donnelly. "I think this version will give those who know A Christmas Carol all the things they expect, but not as they've experienced them before. There are more than enough psychedelic, time-travelling and musical surprises to keep those familiar with the story on the edge of their seats, while the authentic essence of Dickens has been retained for those coming completely fresh to the classic tale. I can't wait to share this new version of A Christmas Carol with the world and sincerely hope audiences embrace it this year and for many to come."
