Hayao Miyazaki's latest film won the Golden Globe as best animated feature film. Producer's statemend below.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association in the Golden Globes 2024 edition included in the Best Animated Feature Film category Elemental (Pixar), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Sony), Suzume (Makoto Shinkai), The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Illumination) and Wish (Disney).

But it was Miyazaki's feature film The Boy and the Heron that won.

Both the Japanese director and the producer Toshio Suzuki did not expect the award and, therefore, were not present at the event.

The producer promptly released a statement on their Twitter profile thanking for the first Golden Globe won by Studio Ghibli but also remembering the tragedy and the victims of the earthquakes that hit Japan early in the year.
