The European co-produced feature film Kensuke's Kingdom arrives in North America in October. Watch the English trailer below.
The film follows the epic adventure of Michael, a young boy who sets off with his family on a sailing trip of a lifetime. Excitement turns to terror when a violent storm erupts and Michael and his dog, Stella, are swept overboard. They are washed up on to a remote island, frightened and struggling to survive. Michael soon discovers he is not alone when he is confronted by Kensuke, a mysterious Japanese man who has lived there, secretly, since World War II and is angry that Michael has arrived. However, when poachers threaten their fragile island paradise and the animals that live there, Michael and Kensuke join forces to save their secret world.

A co-production between Mélusine Productions, Jigsaw Films, Align, British Film Institute, Bumpybox, Ffilm Cymru Wales, Le Pacte, Luxembourg Film Fund and the London animation studios Lupus Films, the film is directed by Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry, based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, adapted for the screen by Frank Cottrell-Boyce.

Among the voice actors we find the fresh Oscar winner Cillian Murphy together with Sally Hawkins, Raffey Cassidy, Aaron MacGregor and Ken Watanabe.

Awarded at the British Animation Awards and the New York International Children's Film Festival, the film will be released in theaters in the US and Canada from October 18 by Blue Fox Entertainment, as the trailer previews:
