Teaser of the new Dutch feature film The King & The Thief. The feature film The King and The Thief is an entirely Dutch project, of which we see the first animations and information below.The King & The Thief (at home Karel & Elegast) is an animated feature film produced by Den Haag-based studio Anikey and the Luster based on the medieval Dutch legend Karel & Elegast.The original tale has as its protagonist the knight of Charlemagne's court Elegast, who later fell into disgrace and was removed from the court, ending up living in the woods near the king's castle, robbing the rich to help the poor. Legend, as the name recalls, has him as an elf endowed with magical powers. After a revelatory dream, King Charlemagne disguises himself as a thief and seeks out Elegast to ask him to plunder the king's castle. But the elf refuses and instead suggests sacking the castle of the king's brother-in-law Eggeric van Eggermonde. The two then secretly enter his castle and overhear him plotting to kill Charlemagne. At this point the king invites Elegast to return to court and help him foil the plot.The project, currently in production, is written and directed by Albert 't Hooft and financed by The Netherlands Film Fund.Here the first teaser:[ Fra - source Anikey ].
