The animated French feature film The Summit of the Gods (orig. Le Sommet des Dieux) is purchased by Netflix. Below info and date.
The feature film is directed by Patrick Imbert with the screenplay written by Magali Pouzol, Patrick Imbert and Jean-Charles Ostoréro, based on the manga by the great Jiro Taniguchi (based on a story by Baku Yumemakura) who tragically died in 2017, very close to France where in 2011 he was named Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Synopsis: Were George Mallory and his companion Andrew Irvine the first men to scale Everest on June 8th, 1924? Only the little Kodak VPK camera they took with them might reveal the truth. In Kathmandu, 70 years later, a young Japanese reporter named Fukamachi recognizes the camera in the hands of the mysterious Habu Joji, an outcast climber believed missing for years. Fukamachi enters a world of obsessive mountaineers hungry for impossible conquests on a journey that leads him, step by step, towards the summit of the gods.

After moving to Cannes a few months ago and arriving in French theaters later this month, the international distribution has been acquired by Netflix which will bring it to American theaters on November 24 and to English theaters on November 26, to then make it available on the streaming platform everywhere (excluding Fance, Benelux, China, Japan and South Korea) on November 30.
