This fall we will take a new trip into the Central America culture with the event series Maya and the Three of which we see the very first images.Netflix has released the first images of the new original work created, written, directed and produced by Jorge R. Gutiérrez (The Book of Life), nine-part fantasy genre series set in ancient Mesoamerica."As a lifelong lover of fantasy films from around the world and deeply inspired by the glorious Mesoamerican art and exhibits of the Museo Nacional de Antropologia in my hometown of Mexico City, I created Maya as our own fiercely rebellious Eagle Warrior Princess," said Gutiérrez. "Our young heroine is lovingly inspired by the real Mexican warrior women in my life: my mother, sister and my eternal muse, my wife.
