Cinematography: The CG production pipeline

Read...
A new appointment with Cinematography in Animation Industry lets us take a look at the complex process of a 3D computer graphics animated production.

The studios of this in-depth study are the DreamWorks Animation Studios, founded on October 12, 1994 in Glendale by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, who have produced 40 animated feature films and is owned by Universal Pictures since 2016.

The production process, or pipeline, of a feature film made with 3D Computer Graphics animations (in part or the same as a short film) is made up of several phases, each different and important for the final result.

Introduced by the whell known Penguins of the Madagascar saga, the video show us all the phases from the "script to the screen", with interesting contributions from authors and directors working in the studios.

To date, with the progress of technology, the whole process has undergone some slight variations, with phases managed in different ways, for example thanks to new techniques of real-time pre-visualization and animation, or new sectors such as crowd management, that we will deepen in the coming weeks.
