Fans say no to the Sonic The Hedgehog design - so it will be fixed

Read...
Yes, it happened. Immediately after the release of the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog, Paramount studios immediately realized that the design of the main character had not been well welcomed.
Here is therefore an afterthought by the studios communicated directly by the director Jeff Fowler via his Twitter account after the negative comments and the thumbs (almost double the positive ones) collected by the video.

"Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear... you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be... #sonicmovie #gottafixfast"

Tweet closed with the hashtag #gottafixfast as they have only 6 months before the theatrical release, scheduled for November at the moment, and they can't afford any flop, with a budget of $90 million (that will rise a little).

This will not include additional charges for live action scenes. Only the digital character will change, so the new one will be virtually replaced to the old.

The animations and the special effects of the film are produced by Blur Studio, Digital Domain, Industrial Light & Magic, and MPC.

Here is a frame of the film reworked by the artist Edward Pun with the character with the necessary proportional corrections (right) compared to the current one of the film (left):
