Birthday Wonderland - the new Keiichi Hara anime

The new anime of the director of Miss Hokusai and Colorful (both awarded at Annecy), Keiichi Hara, is a beautiful voyage in a magical world: Birthday Wonderland. Below the first trailer.
The Japanese office of Warner Bros. has announced the new project inspired to 1988 book for children "Chikashitru Kara no Fushigi na Tabi" by Sachiko Kashiwaba.
The main character is the young Akane, a girl with little esteem of herself whose life will be overturned by an important mission to save the world that will be entrusted by a mysterious alchemist. A journey that will take her to the magical world of Wonderland, where the girl will have to prove she is up to the task.
The script is written by Miho Maruo while the character design is edited by the artist Ilya Kuvshinov.
