The anime Sayonara by Mari Okada conquers Shinkai

The anime Sayonara no Asa and Yakusoku no Hana or Kazarņ will arrives in the Japanese theaters in a few days, anime that another well-known director of the genre has greatly appreciated.
We are talking about Makoto Shinkai, director of the latest blockbuster "Your Name", who after attending a preview screening of the film by Mari Okada, a famous screenwriter here in his directorial debut, shared his personal opinion.
"I went to a private screening of Sayonara no Asa and Yakusoku no Hana or Kazarō. It was a fantastic film that manages to move within you those memories that are usually forgotten. It is a work directed by Mari Okada that continues to give new freshness to animation, as he was already doing as a screenwriter, comparing himself to a work of such high quality makes him jealous and impatient, even we directors (already well-known) must show that they are combative".
The drama/fantasy anime tells the story of Makia and her family, in which all the components stop aging when they reach adolescence. One day, military invaders come to disturb their routine and want to discover the secret of their longevity. But the young woman manages to escape leaving behind her home and friends to take refuge in a forest where she makes friends with Erial, a boy who, unlike Makia, grows normally.
The movie Sayonara no Asa and Yakusoku no Hana or Kazarņ will land in Japanese theaters on February 24th.
