Trailer for the television anime Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers

From a video game born almost thirty years ago, this spring comes the new anime television Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers. Info and trailer below.

After the decline of the once robust fields of science and technology, a new energy source known as magic fuels the modern era. Humanity creates forbidden biological weapons: Gears. Those Gears eventually stand against humanity in a rebellion. Although they manage to overcome in the struggle for survival known as the Crusades, humanity's losses are so great that even after several decades pass, their emotional wounds remain unable to fully heal. Sin Kiske, the child of a human and a Gear, heads to his father Ky and mother Dizzy's wedding ceremony. Their wedding breaks the ultimate taboo: a union between a human and a Gear. When suddenly, a mysterious girl appears...

The anime is produced by Sanizgen Inc., with direction by Shigeru Morikawa, scripts written and supervised by Norimitsu Kaiho, and original character designs by Daisuke Ishiwatari (Arc System Works)

The first Guilty Gear game was released in 1998 for the PlayStation, while the latest title in the series, Guilty Gear Strive, was released in 2021.

The anime series will debut in April on the Crunchyroll platform. Here is the trailer that lets us listen to the opening song "Axclusion" by the rock band Ulma Sound Junction:
