DreamWorks Animation kicks off new year with Dog Man

The next feature film from DreamWorks Animation studios, expected at the beginning of the year, is titled Dog Man and below we show you the first trailer.

Part dog, part man, all hero.

When a loyal police dog and his human cop owner are injured together on the job, a crazy but life-saving surgery fuses them together and Dog Man is born. As Dog Man embraces his new identity and strives to impress his boss, he must stop the rather evil plans of feline supervillain Petey the Cat. Petey's latest plan is to clone himself, creating the kitten Lil Petey, to double his criminal abilities. Things get complicated, however, when Lil Petey forms an unexpected bond with Dog Man. When Lil Petey falls into the clutches of a common enemy, Dog Man and Petey reluctantly join forces in an action-packed race against time to save the young kitten.

Based on the books by Dav Pilkey, Dog Man is directed by Emmy Award winner Peter Hastings (Captain Underpants, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, Animaniacs), written by Pilkey himself and produced by Karen Foster (Spirit Untamed).

Expected in theaters from January 31 distributed by Universal Pictures, here is the first trailer:
