Yaiba is the new anime from the father of Detective Conan

The new anime produced by Wit Studio is titled Yaiba, a manga that already became an animated series in the 90s. Watch a promo video below.

The series follows the titular Yaiba Kurogane, a young samurai boy inspired by Miyamoto Musashi, the real-life swordsman who pioneered the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu style of two-sword fighting and wrote The Book of Five Rings classic on military strategy.

The Yaiba manga was originally published by Gosho Aoyama (Detective Conan) in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 1988 and ended in 1993.

The first 52-episode television anime series ran from April 1993 to April 1994.

Now, a reboot is being produced by Wit Studio, with a respected staff that includes director Takahiro Hasui (Mob Psycho 100 II), scriptwriter Touko Machida (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life, The IDOLM@STER), character designer and animation director Yoshimichi Kameda (INU-OH), chief animator Takeshi Maenami, and producer Maiko Okada (Great Pretender razbliuto). The music is composed by Yutaka Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul) and Yoshiaki Dewa (IRODUKU: The World in Colors).

While we wait for more information on the release, here is a promo:
