Trailer and release date of the anime The Elusive Samurai

The anime The Elusive Samurai based on the manga of the same name will arrive on Japanese small screens in less than a month. Info and promo below.

After the massacre of his family by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki flees with the help of a handful of loyal retainers who have also survived the purge. One of them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province. The slightly odd Yorishige also claims to be clairvoyant and foretells that Tokiyuki will one day become the ruler of Japan. But for the moment, escaping from enemy territory is the priority!

The Elusive Samurai is the manga by Yusei Matsui (in Japan Nigejòzu no Wakagimi) which becomes anime thanks to the animation studios CloverWorks, the direction by Yuta Yamazaki (assistant director of Wonder Egg Priority, director of the Love Rice series) and character designs by Yasushi Nishiya (lead animator of Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!).

The author Matsui (Assassination Classroom) launched the manga in January 2021 in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump and it is still ongoing. The anime will instead be broadcast from July 6 on Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV and Gunma TV channels.
