Sakamoto Days - The anime of the legendary retired hitman

The anime adaptation of the Sakamoto Days manga by Yuuto Suzuki is in production and will be completed within the year. Watch the first promo below.

Taro Sakamoto was the ultimate assassin, feared by villains and admired by hitmen. But one day...he fell in love! Retirement, marriage, fatherhood and then... Sakamoto gained weight! The chubby guy who runs the neighborhood store is actually a former legendary hitman! Can he protect his family from danger? Get ready to experience a new kind of action comedy series!

Produced at TMS Entertainment studios, the anime is directed by Masaki Watanabe (KADO - The Right Answer, Bartender), written and supervised by Taku Kishimoto (BLUELOCK, Haikyu!!, Moriarty the Patriot), with character designs by Yo Moriyama (Lupin the IIIrd : Goemon's Blood Spray, Lupine the IIIrd: Jigen's Gravestone).

The original manga began its publication in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2020 and is still ongoing.

The series will be ready for January 2025 and, from some interviews, it has been revealed that it will be part of the future Netflix line-up.
