Trailer for French-Japanese anime film Ghost Cat Anzu
The new anime film produced in collaboration between French and Japanese studios is titled Ghost Cat Anzu and below you will find the newly released official trailer.
The protagonist of the story is Karin, 11 years old, a little girl who is abandoned by her father to her grandfather, a monk from a small town in the Japanese province. He asks Anzu, his jovial and helpful although quite capricious ghost cat, to watch over her. The meeting of their strong characters causes sparks, at least at the beginning.
A feature film made with two-dimensional animations produced in Japan, with the characters decorated and colored at the French studios, and the use of rotoscoping with which the live-action shots of the actors Mirai Moriyama (Anzu) and Noa Goto (Karin) were brought into animation. The same actors lend their voices to the characters in the Japanese version of the film.
Ghost Cat Anzu (Anzu, chat-fantôme), is co-produced by the Japanese Shin-Ei Animation (Doraemon, Crayon Shin -chan) and the Parisian Miyu Productions, directed by Yoko Kuno and Nobuhiro Yamashita, with the characters designed by Yoko Kuno, the animations directed by Namiko Ishidate and Yukie Nakauchi and the music composed by Keiichi Suzuki.
Presented as a preview and in competition at the Annecy Festival [news] , the film will hit in Japanese theaters on July 19.
