The Glassworker is the first 2D animated film produced in Pakistan


The trailer for the animated feature film The Glassworker was presented, the first 2D animated film produced in Pakistan to be released in theaters. Info and video below.


The film centers on a father and son who run the finest glass workshop in a country inspired by Pakistan. An approaching war turns tears their lives apart, and the arrival of an army colonel and his talented violinist daughter Alliz tests the relationship between father and son.

The Glassworker is made with classic freehand drawings. It is directed by Usman Riaz and will be presented at the Cannes Film Market next month and in June at Annecy in the Contrechamp category.

The film is made by Pakistani studios Mano Animation Studios and Awedacious Original, with veteran Spanish animator Manuel Cristobal (Wrinkles, Bunuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles) and Khizer Riaz producers and Apoorva Bakshi executive producer.

"An adventure that began 10 years ago" admits the director, "which no one would have bet would end with the presentation in Annecy among the best films from all over the world. We are grateful to the organizers for selecting us. The Glassworker is not just a film, it represents the power of perseverance".
