Shout! Studios announces Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning home ver.

The latest anime film Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, based on the well-known franchise, arrives in a home version after its release in theaters.

Shout! Studios in collaboration with Toei Animation celebrates the 25th anniversary of Digimon with the film released in Japanese theaters last October which now arrives in a home version.

The story is set in 2012, 10 years after the adventure in the Digital World. Daisuke Motomiya is now 20, and he and the rest of the DigiDestined seem to be changing bit by bit in terms of appearance and lifestyle. Then, one day, a giant Digitama suddenly appears in the sky over Tokyo Tower. Daisuke and the others encounter a mysterious young man named Lui Ohwada, who informs them that he’s the first-ever DigiDestined in the world...

The film is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi with the screenplay written by Akatsuki Yamatoya and the creative team behind the recent film Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.

Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will be available on Blu-ray+ DVD and on digital platforms from June 11 together with limited edition collector's cards.
