Studio Colorido's fourth anime film is My Oni Girl
What happens when a boy meets a demon girl? We will find out in the anime My Oni Girl, the new feature film from Studio Colorido of which we see the first animations.
The agreement between Netflix and the Japanese animation studio Studio Colorido is renewed with a new animated feature film after A Whisker Away (2020) and Drifting Home (2022).
The protagonist of the story is the first year high school student Hiiragi who, eager to get along with others and not be unpleasant, finds himself unable to say no every time someone asks him something. One summer day, while unsuccessfully fulfilling another request, he meets an oni girl named Tsumugi, who has come to the human world to look for her mother. She does what she wants and is the exact opposite of Hiiragi.
The film is directed by Tomotaka Shibayama (A Whisker Away co-director) who also wrote the story together with Yuko Kakihara (2022 Urusei Yatsura, Digimon Adventure tri.). Masafumi Yokota (A Whisker Away animation director) is the author of the character designs, assisted by Sunao Chikaoka. Mina Kubota (A Whisker Away, Macross Delta) composes the music.
The fourth film produced by the studio will arrive in Japanese theaters on May 24 and on the same day available worldwide for Netflix customers.
