Promo for Rinkai!, women's cycling anime

The new sports anime starring a female cycling team, Rinkai!, will begin broadcasting in April. Info and promo below.

The story centers on the sport of women's cycling, which debuted in Japan shortly after World War II. However, organized competitions folded after just 15 years and laid dormant for several decades. Then the Rinkai! League launched to revive the sport.

The anime is directed by Takaaki Ishiyama (Fairy Musketeers, Sakura Wars) at 6th Studio (owned by TMS Entertainment), in collaboration with Maruga Factory. The script is written by Hideki Shirane (Date A Live, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?), with character design by Hiromi Ono (animation artist for InuYasha, Saber Marionette J), Niki Higaki art director and Shuichiro Fukuhiro, Yoshihei Ueda and Mana Hirano authors of the music.

The Rinkai! anime will begin broadcasting on April 9 on the Tokyo MX channel and then on BS Fuji.
