Pixar's Soul, Luca and Turning Red in Theaters

The three titles produced by the Pixar studios released in the midst of the pandemic and distributed mainly via Disney's streaming platform will have their programming on the big screens.

The Mickey Mouse studios have decided to bring to the big screens three Pixar feature films released at the worst time when theaters were empty.

But in addition to a necessary transition to these titles (two of which most deserve the cinematographic environment), two further reasons are added: the delay caused by the last two strikes (authors and actors) in Hollywood which postponed practically all the American film and television productions and the words of the creative head of the Pixar studios, Pete Docter, who accuses Disney of hijacking titles conceived (and made with a significant budget) for theaters on its streaming platform.

"There has been a general change in viewing habits, and this is due to the pandemic" Docter said. "Especially in the case of Disney. We told fans: 'Hey, all of this will be available to you on Disney+!'".

This also included the latest Elemental which started off poorly in theaters and ended with an acceptable (almost) half a million dollars worldwide.

Therefore the arrival in theaters of the three films Soul (2020), Luca (2021) and Turning Red (2022) aims to try to patch up to both issues.

The dates announced in the North America are:

- Soul on January 12
- Turning Red on February 9
- Luca on 22 March
