Release date for the third and final season of Hilda animated series
The animated series based on the graphic novel by Luke Pearson comes to an end with the third season, the first information of which has leaked from the network.
The animated series Hilda, taken from the creation of the same name by the British illustrator and cartoonist Luke Pearson, is ready to return a few years after the last production, the feature film Hilda and the King Mountain (2021) which follows the two seasons (2018 - 2020) of the animated series produced by Netflix, by the Kids section of Sony Pictures Television and by the Canadian animation studios Mercury Filmworks.
The third season of the series starring the blue-haired girl and her adventures with her friends among mythological and fantastic creatures, will be made up of 7x22-minute episodes and a 70-minute special and will have the premiere of the first two episodes next September 21 at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.
"Hilda has been an incredibly rewarding project for Mercury Filmworks, and Sony Kids has been a phenomenal creative partner to bring this beautiful and unique series to life," stated Chantal Ling, Vice President, Original Series & Co-Productions, Mercury Filmworks. "While it is always tough to see the end of a series that has been so professionally gratifying, we are thrilled to showcase the latest epic adventures of our heroine Hilda in this final season at the Ottawa International Animation Festival and for audiences around the world to be entertained when the series premieres on Netflix later this year."
Subscribers of the famous platform will instead have to wait until December 7 to see it on their small screen.
