From manga to anime: The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today

A new television anime is ready to be part of the summer schedules. The name already describes everything: The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today. Below release date and trailer.

Hitsuji Yamada's manga titled Dekiru Neko wa Kyo mo Yùutsu will soon become an anime part of the Animeism block of Japanese broadcasters MBS and TBS.

The story begins when young Saku welcomes a small black stray cat into her home. No one ever expected that this would become the equivalent of a life partner for her. But Yukichi, a giant cat who towers over Saku, is not your ordinary feline. He takes great pride in his culinary skills, and a good sale at the supermarket always gets his whiskers twitching. Saku may not have a classic relationship in her life, but at least she has Yukichi!

Susumu Kudo (K, Coppelion) is directing the adaptation created with CGI and classic 2D animations, while Katsumasa Yokomine (Coppelion, Hand Shakers, W'z) directing the episodes at the GoHands studios. The writing is the work of Tamazo Yanagi (Hand Shakers, Scar on the Praeter), while the characters are designed by Takayuki Uchida ( Hand Shakers, Scar on the Praeter, W'z).

The manga premiered on the Nico Nico Seiga website in August 2018 and then serialized in the Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in October 2021.
