The graphic novel I'm Still Alive becomes a film directed by Saviano
Variety report that the graphic novel I'm Still Alive moves to the big screen thanks to an international co-production that will see its author, as well as protagonist, make his directorial debut.
The italian journalist Roberto Saviano will make his directorial debut on an animated feature film with I'm Still Alive (orig. Sono Ancora Vivo), an adaptation of the homonymous work illustrated by Asaf Hanuka (Waltz with Bashir) and published in Italy by BAO Publishing.
The comic book chronicles the 15-year life of the journalist and activist who has been perpetually under escort since his book Gomorrah was published.
The film will be made starting from Hanuka's illustrations and will be an international co-production between the Italian Mad Entertainment and Lucky Red, the Belgian GapBusters and the Tel Aviv studio Sipur.
Saviano, in addition to directing, will also sign the screenplay together with Alessandro Rak, Filippo Bologna and Stefano Piedimonte.
