Netflix Pixar and Dreamworks lead the Annie Awards nominations


The Annie Awards, the awards that celebrate excellence in the animated and special effects industry assigned to Hollywood, arrive at the edition number 50. Below all the nominations.


ASIFA-Hollywood Announces Nominations for 50th Annie Awards Celebrating Excellence in the animation and special effects industry, with the awards to be presented on Saturday 25th February.

Netflix is hoarding its productions this year, but the big American studios are still there.

Here are the feature films that garnered the most nominations:

- Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (Netflix) - 9 nominations
- Turning Red (Disney/Pixar) – 7 nominations
- Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (Universal/DreamWorks) – 6 nominations
- The Sea Beast (Netflix) – 6 nominations
- The Bad Guys (Universal/DreamWorks) – 5 nominations


Here is the list of series/specials with the most nominations:

- The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Hare (Apple TV+) - 7 nominations
- The House (Netflix) – 6 nominations
- Oni: Thunder God's Tale (Netflix) – 6 nominations
- Love, Death + Robots (Netflix) – 5 nominations
- BAYMAX! (Disney+) - 3 nominations


In addition to the titles above, contending for Best Feature Film will also be Wendell & Wild, while the nominations for Best Indie Feature Film include:

- Charlotte (January Films, Ltd., Balthazar Productions, and Walking the Dog)
- Inu-Oh (Science SARU)
- Little Nicholas, Happy As Can Be (On Classics (Mediawan) / Bidibul Productions)
- Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (Marcel the Movie LLC)
- My Father's Dragon (Cartoon Saloon for Netflix)
