New trailer for the surprising Chinese feature film Deep Sea

The director of the Chinese animated feature Monkey King: Hero Is Back returns with a new work that is more dreamlike and with an even more astonishing realization. New video and new poster below.

Deep Sea (original Shen Hai) is the title of the new feature film directed by Tian Xiaopeng (Monkey King: Hero Is Back) and produced by October Media and Coloroom Pictures.

The film tells the story of a girl who embarks on a unique life journey, seeking and searching the mysterious underwater world.

Made with first-sight CG animations of the highest quality, the film features very pictorial scenes, with techniques that draw directly from the tradition of Chinese painting.

An experimentation with a mix of styles whose results seem very promising.

The domestic release has been postponed by a few months and should reach theaters in 2023.
