The passion for Jazz in the Blue Giant anime film
Anime often tell of youthful passions that mark the lives of the protagonists and their growth path. Few of these narratives include the music industry. Making the difference comes the anime Blue Giant.
The project is the animated transposition of the manga of the same name by Shinichi Ishizuka, starring Dai Miyamoto, a third-year middle school student, whose heart has been touched by jazz, so much so that he exercises incessantly with his saxophone alone, rain or shine, day or night, for many years with the aim of becoming the greatest saxophonist in the world. A long and winding road that will lead him to discover a new world.
The anime film is produced at NUT studio, with the script to be written by Number 8 and direction by Yuzuru Tachikawa (Death Parade, Mob Psycho 100). The cast also includes Yuichi Takahashi as character design and animation director, Satoru Hirayanagi as art director, and Masato Takahashi as 3D CGI scene director. In fact, the film mixes two-dimensional and 3D animations, the second one mainly used in the concert scenes.
Noteworthy is the presentation of the world-famous pianist Hiromi Uehara, who will compose the original songs played by the protagonists, in which the saxophonist Tomoaki Baba and the drummer Shun Ishiwaka (of the band Millennium Parade) will also participate.
