Kaina - trailer for the new anime by Tsutomu Nihei & Polygon Pictures

The author of the manga and anime Blame! is ready to return with a new story created by the well-known animation studios that use 3D CG models.

Oyukiumi no Kaina (Kaina of the Great Snow Sea) is the new fantasy project of the mangaka Tsutomu Nihei (Blame!, Knights of Sidonia) created together with the studios Polygon Pictures.

The anime will be directed by Hiroaki Ando (Ajin, Listeners) and scripted by Sadayuki Murai (Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters) and Tetsuya Yamada (Knights of Sidonia) and created with 2d-filtered CG animations.

The story is set in a world where the planet earth is engulfed by the great sea of snow of the title. Humanity finds itself leading a hard life above Tenmaku, the territory that stretches from the roots to the tops of the gigantic orbital trees. The protagonists of the story are the young Kaina and the princess of the small town of Atland, Liliha.

Expected from January 11 on the Fuji TV's Ultra+ block.
