Annecy 2022: Le Petit Nicolas wins the Cristal Award
After a week of meetings, screenings, previews and much more, the Annecy Festival decrees the best animated productions passed by the small French town.
The French animated film Le Petit Nicolas - Qu'est-ce qu'on attend pour être heureux? [news] was awarded with the Cristal as Best Animated Feature Film.
The other awards of the feature film section include:
- Interdit aux chiens et aux Italiens, a stop-motion film by Alain Ughetto wins the Jury Prize and the Gan Foundation Award for Distribution.
- My Love Affair with Marriage, Latvian film by Signe Baumane wins the Jury Distinction.
- Saules aveugles, femme endormie (Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman), French film by Pierre Foldes wins the Jury Distinction (ex aequo).
- Ikuta no Kita (Dozens of Norths), a France-Japanese film by Koji Yamamura wins the Contrechamp Award.
- Chun Tae-il: A Flame That Lives On, South Korean film by Jun-pyo Hong wins the Contrechamp Jury Distinction award.
Short film section:
- Amok (Hungary, Romania) by Balázs Turai wins the Cristal award and the France TV for best short film.
- Steakhouse (Slovenia, Germany, France) by Spela Cadez wins the Jury Award.
- Anxious body (France, Japan) by Yoriko Mizushiri wins the Jury Distinction award for "its beautifully crafted animation and its great physical experience".
- The Record (Switzerland) by Jonathan Laskar wins the "Jean-Luc Xiberras" Award for a First Film.
- Intersect (Switzerland) by Dirk Koy wins the "Off-Limits" award.
TV and commissioned films:
- My Year of Dicks (USA) by Sara Gunnarsdottir wins the Cristal award for Best TV Film.
- Dos pajaritos (Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay) wins the Jury Prize for a TV series.
- The House [news] (UK, USA) wins the Jury Award for a TV special.
- Save Ralph (UK) wins the Cristal award for a commissioned film.
- Aline (France) by Wes Anderson wins the Jury Award for a commissioned film.
