New and long trailer for the hybrid film Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers
Disney unveils a complete new trailer for the hybrid film Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, expected in less than a month on its streaming platform.
In the story Chip and Dale are living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are quite different now. It has been decades since their successful television series was canceled, and Chip has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale, meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former cast mate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend's life.
The feature film directed by Akiva Schaffer (Saturday Night Live), written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, based on a story by Barry Schwartz and produced by Mandeville Films and Walt Disney Pictures, mixes live-actions with animation, both classic two-dimensional and in CG, important elements precisely for the story.
The hybrid live-action/CG animated film is made using different animation techniques, including CGI, traditional 2D animation and even stop-motion. In fact, each character has a different approach (linked to their own story).
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers will not hit theaters but will be distributed exclusively on Disney+ from May 20.
