First animations for Netflix's The Sea Beast

A new production entirely made in Netflix Animation and led by an Academy Award winner will take us to unexplored and dangerous seas. Below the first trailer for The Sea Beast.

Set in an age when terrifying beasts roamed the seas, monster hunters were famous heroes and none were loved more than the great Jacob Holland. But when young Maisie Brumble hides on her legendary ship, the hero discovers an unexpected ally. Together they embark on an epic journey into uncharted waters ready to write history.

The Sea Beast is directed by Academy Award-winning director Chris Williams (Moana, Big Hero 6, Bolt) and produced by Williams and Jed Schlanger and written by Williams and Nell Benjamin, with direct production from Netflix's Animation section and animation produced by Sony Pictures Imageworks studios in Vancouver.

Featuring the voices of Karl Urban, Zaris-Angel Hator, Jared Harris, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Dan Stevens and Kathy Burke, the film will be available on the platform from July 8.
