Icarus and the Minotaur star in an independent European film

From a former Pixar animator, an interesting independent animated film is released in French theaters that takes us back to Greek mythology. Below info and trailers.

On the island of Crete, every corner is a playground for Icarus, the son of the great inventor Daedalus. During an exploration near the palace of Knossos, the little boy makes a strange discovery: a child with the head of a bull is locked up there by order of King Minos. In secret from his father, Icarus will befriend the young minotaur named Asterion. But fate changes when the latter is taken into a labyrinth. Can Icarus save his friend and change the course of a story written by the gods?

This is the synopsis of Icare (Icarus), a film made with 3D animations filtered for a final 2D effect, directed by Carlo Vogele, student of the prestigious school of visual arts Gobelins, Paris, and former Pixar animator (Monsters University, The Brave, Cars 2, Toy Story 3), with a story written by Vogele together with Isabelle Andrivet and the production of studios Iris Films and Rezo Productions.

"The idea is to imagine the youth of the young Icarus, a part that is not mentioned in the Greek myth as we know it", explains Vogele.

Expected in French theaters from March 30, here is the official trailer and a poster:
