The Bad Guys is the new feature film from DreamWorks Animation

The first film of 2022 produced by the studios owned by Universal Pictures will tell us about a gang of evil animals dedicated only to bad deeds: The Bad Guys. Below the first trailer.

Based on the Aaron Blabey saga of children's books of the same name, the film is written by Etan Cohen and Hilary Winston and directed by Pierre Perifel, veteran animator here making his debut. A film made, as always, with CGI animations but with comic book-style insertions and two-dimensional filters that recall the latest animated Spider-Man.

Never have there been five friends as infamous as The Bad Guys - dashing pickpocket Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), seen-it-all safecracker Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), chill master-of-disguise Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), short-fused "muscle" Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) and sharp-tongued expert hacker Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina), aka "Webs".

But when, after years of countless heists and being the world's most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught, Mr. Wolf brokers a deal (that he has no intention of keeping) to save them all from prison: The Bad Guys will go good.
