Wendell and Wild - the return of Henry Selick

The brilliant animator and stop-motion veteran Henry Selick is ready to return with his new work entitled Wendell and Wild which will see the light in 2022.

The mind behind films like Coraline and the Magic Door and The Nightmare Before Christmas is ready to return with a new film he himself directed and co-wrote with Clay McLeod Chapman and Jordan Peele.

It's titled Wendell and Wild and follows the story of the title's demon brothers (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) as they escape the underworld and encounter demon-duster Kat.

The title has been in production since 2015, with co-writer Peele already on board the project together with Selick's production house Monkeypaw Productions, a Gotham Group, a Principato-Young and Netflix Animation. The Argentine artist Pablo Lobato is designing the characters and the composer Bruno Coulais write the music.

Late due to the pandemic, the film is expected to come out next year (but no exact dates have been announced yet).
