Slide - Bill Plympton new feature on Kickstarter
The genius indie animator Bill Plympton is ready to return with a new film. Below all the info on the fundraising campaign to make it happen.
After his latest film Revengeance (2016) and various short films and intros for popular shows such as The Simpsons, the Portland-born animator presents his next work due out next year which will be set in its homeland: Oregon.
A story that will bring all his love for that land, for the west settings and for country music. "As a kid growing up among the tall timbers of Oregon, I wanted to create a Western that takes place in the evergreen-covered mountains. It's 50 years later, I've had Oscar nominations and won Cannes Festival awards, and it's time to fulfill a boyhood dream," wrote Bill.
Slide centers on a slide guitar-playing cowboy of the same name, who shows up in a corrupt 1940s logging town in the Oregon forest to battle a pair of evil twins and save the village of Sourdough Creek.
To make the film, the author has launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter that aims to raise at least $ 80,000 and as part of the rewards he offers to include a caricature of one of the supporters as a villain in the film, final credits, signed prints and DVDs, premiere invitations and more.
