The animated films nominated for the European Film Awards 2020
Published the list of films nominated for the European Film Award 2020. In the animated section in competition 4 eclectic works that we show you below.
Edition no. 33 of the European Film Awards will be held on December 12 live streaming from Berlin.
The four films that will compete in the Best Animated Film category are:
- Calamity, A Childhood Of Martha Jane Cannary
Director: Rémy Chayé
Production: France, Denmark
It's a reimagining of the childhood of the pioneering icon Calamity Jane in the American Wild West in 1863. A beautifully animated mixed 3D and 2D film that won the Cristal for Best Feature Film at the Annecy last June.

Director: Aurel
Production: France, Belgium, Spain
The film stars a dying gendarme who remembers his meeting with Catalan artist Josep Bartoli in a French concentration camp after the Spanish Civil War.
Winner of the Audience Award and Best Screenplay at the Athens Film Festival.

Director: Sergio Pablos
Production: Spain
Winner of BAFTA (UK), GOYA (Spain), Annie Awards and Oscar nominated, the film tells the birth of the legend of Santa Claus, the first work of the studios founded by Sergio Pablos and distributed exclusively by Netflix.

- The Nose Or The Conspiracy Of Mavericks
Director: Andrey Khrzhanovsky
Production: Russia
Awarded at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in January and at the last Annecy, it is a darkly tinted film inspired by a satirical story written in 1836 by author Nikolai Gogol, who gives us a harrowing picture of the Russian avant-garde of the 20th century.
