Trailer for the anime Josee, The Tiger and the Fish by BONES

A new original anime comes with a trailer ahead of its arrival in Japanese theaters next Christmas. It's titled Josee, the Tiger and the Fish and you will find the trailer immediately below.

Inspired by Seiko Tanabe's short story released in 1985 (which inspired a live-action film in 2003), the anime is titled Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi, and will be distributed by Shochiku and Kadokawa.

The film's story centers on the relationship between Tsuneo and Josee. Tsuneo is a university student, and Josee is a young girl who has rarely gone out of the house by herself due to her being unable to walk. The two meet when Tsuneo finds Josee's grandmother taking her out for a morning walk.

The romantic comedy is directed by Kotaro Tamura and scripted by Sayaka Kuwamura, with Nao Emoto and Haruko Iizuka authors of the character design and animations, and with animations produced by the prestigious BONES studios.

Initially scheduled to hit theaters in the Summer, the film is now slated to be released on December 25 with a preview at the next TIFF (Tokyo International Film Festival - October 31 to November 9).
