Beauty Water - an horror anime from South Korea

Presented in well-known festivals such as Annecy or Fantasia, the horror anime Beauty Water will hit the theaters soon. Below the new trailer.

It is a psychological horror made mainly with computer graphics animations (not very accurate, from the first images), whose production has been delayed by the global pandemic whose release should finally be scheduled for this month at home.

The film tells the story of Yaeji, a woman with low self-esteem who uses an elixir - the "beauty Water" of the title - which makes him magically gain beauty and lose weight. However, she will soon discover dangerous side effects.

A story that aims to focus attention on Korean beauty standards so acclaimed that they lead girls to dangerous surgeries in order to acquire beauty.

The film marks the directorial debut of Kyung-hun Cho, CEO of Studio Animal, the animation studio that produced the film together with SS Animent, adapting the story of the web comic with the same name by Seong-dae Oh.
