Short Circuit - Disney looking for new ideas

Next month at Annecy, the International Animation Film Festival held in the French city of the same name, Disney will world premiere the first short films of his new project.

It's called Short Cirtuit the new project set up by Walt Disney Animation Studios, the main studios of the American giant brand. A project aimed at producing experimental short films that can be used for new ideas.

The company explains: "Anyone at Walt Disney Animation Studios can pitch an idea and potentially be selected to create an original short film with the support of the studio and their fellow artists. The goal of this innovative program is to take risks in both visual style and story, surface new voices at the studio, and experiment with new technical innovation".

A very similar project of the SparkShorts, Pixar short program of which we have spoken on our pages and shown the first short films in full version [news].

The three new shorts set to debut at Annecy are:

- Just A Thought directed by Brian Menz
- Exchange Student directed by Natalie Nourigat
- Jing Hua directed by Jerry Huynh

All short films will be visible exclusively for the new Disney Plus service starting in Spring 2020.
