Wolfwalkers is the first movie of the new Apple streaming service

Apple confirm at Toronto International Film Festival (September 6/16) its first animated movie right for the upcoming Worldwide Video Programming division: the new Cartoon Saloon movie.

Wolfwalkers is the new animated feature project from the studios that brought Song of the Sea and The Breadwinner, Cartoon Saloon (Ireland) and Melusine Productions (Luxembourg).

The new movie is directed by Tomm Moore (two-time Oscar nominee for The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea) and co-directed by Ross Stewart (art director for The Secret of Kells), with the original story by Moore and Will Collins (Song of the Sea). The movie is set in "a time of superstition and magic and centers on a girl named Robyn who comes to Ireland with her father, who is training her to be a wolfhunter. There, she befriends a wild native girl named Mebh, who reveals to her the world of the Wolfwalkers — and transforms Robyn into the very thing her father seeks to destroy."

Apple has already included in its new streaming service that will be launched in 2019 a new original production like Central Park, the new animated series from Bob's Burgers creator Loren Bouchard and new kids' content by sector leading studios Sesame Workshop.

Waiting for more news, here the Wolfwalkers conceptual trailer:
