Chicken Run - the sequel is in production
The english Aardman Animation studios will produce a sequel of one of their most successful stop-motion animated movie: Chicken Run.
Written and directed by Peter Lord and Nick Park, Chicken Run was released in 2000, created with 45 million dollars budget and produced by DreamWorks Animation.
The movie grossing more than 220 millions dollar in the global box-office with great critics, like 97% on RottenTomatoes, and many awards like a British Animation Awards, a Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards, a Genesis Awards, a Las Vegas Film Critics Society Awards, a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, a New York Film Critics Circle Awards, a Satellite Awards and many others.
Now, after 18 years, StudioCanal e Pathé will produce the sequel with the english animation studios. Sam Fell, who earned Oscar and BAFTA nominations (ParaNorman, Flushed Away) will direct the movie. Paul Kewley (Shaun the Sheep Movie) will produce and the original writers of the first chapter, Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell have been reunited to write the sequel. Peter Lord and David Sproxton, Aardman's co-founders, will be executive producers.
The production of Chicken Run 2 will start only after Shaun the Sheep Movie Farmageddon production, that will land in theaters in 2019.
