Born in Bristol, United Kingdom, in 1953, he is a British animator, director and film producer, active in the animation industry.

He is the co-founder of the award-winning Aardman Animations together with his friend David Sproxton, acclaimed animation studios known throughout the world for the stop-motion technique, both for feature films and for short films and TV series, in particular those starring the duo of Wallace & Gromit.

He directed the first feature film of the studios, Chicken Run, together with his colleague Nick Park, who joined the group in 1985.

An innovator in the field of stop-motion animation, he has developed numerous techniques and technologies that have elevated the studios as the best in the field recognized throughout the world.

In 2006, the "Aardman Exhibit" was held at the "Ghibli Museum" in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan, where Lord, Sproxton and Park met Hayao Miyazaki, a long-time Aardman Animation fan.

Countless awards he has been nominated for or received around the world for his works, including Academy Awards, Annecy, Annie, Bafta, Emmy, European Film Awards, Goya, Hugo and many others.
